Windows lets me set EXIF dates via a properties dialog without any problem, but I need to be able to set times as well, and that doesn't work. I'm now organizing the lot of them and arranging them with a standard file-naming scheme that includes date and time. From a quick test on a jpg file, here are the editable values and their corresponding metadata fields, as reported by exiv2 -pa pengwin. Some I've taken with a Canon DSLR, some with a couple of old point-and-shooters, some with various phone cameras, and finally I've scanned some decades old family pictures. I just discovered that Windows Explorer (at least in Windows 2) can edit some EXIF/XMP fields. I have a collection of several thousand photos that I've taken over the years.
